KDAT stands for Kiln Dried After Treatment and it's a huge improvement over regular pressure treated lumber. KDAT explained


YellaWood® KDAT Pressure Treated Porch Posts provide exceptional durability and strength at a very attractive price, and the hollow core provides increased structural stability and lighter weight versus solid timbers.

UN-primed or Primed
Our 6" and 8" YellaWood® KDAT Pressure Treated Porch Posts are available either UN-primed or factory-primed with oil-based primer. UN-primed Porch Posts should be primed with oil-based primer and two top coats of quality latex-based exterior paint, including both ends. Factory-primed Posts must be painted with two coats of quality exterior latex paint prior to installation. It is important to paint both ends.
