Ordering Custom Length Running Trims

The Running Trims on page 2 are built to the exact length you require (within 1/16 of an inch) but the repeating pattern for a given design/size will remain consistent regardless of the overall length ordered.

How you plan to use your Custom Length Running Trims determines how we will handle the ends.

1. If you specify that your Running Trim sections will be used individually between fixed items (such as between Porch Posts or between cabinets), we will build each section with its scrollwork cut flush with the ends of the Rails, as shown just below.
Used between fixed items

2. If you specify that Running Trim sections will be used individually but with "open ends" (such as individual sections on each side of a gable eave) we will adjust the position of the scrollwork on the rail so the scrollwork begins and ends at the most pleasing point. In this case, Scrollwork may or may not end flush with the ends of the rail. Shown just below.
With open ends

3. If you specify two or more sections will be used in a continuous run, installed end-to-end between fixed items, we will build these as a "set" using our hidden dowel pin system (provided). This will ensure scrollwork pattern will be continuous when your Running Trims are installed, as shown just below. Please use the Comments Box at Running Trims, p.2 to specify which lengths will be used together (see example #3 below).

4. If you specify two or more sections will be used in a continuous run, but with "open ends", we will build these as a "set" using our hidden dowel pin system (provided). This will ensure scrollwork pattern will be continuous when your Running Trims are installed. This is shown in Running Trim Photo #4 and in the drawing just below. Please use the Comments Box at Running Trims, p.2 to specify which lengths will be used together.

Comments Box
Please use the Comments Box at Running Trims, p.2 to explain how you will use your Running Trims so we can build them correctly.

Example 1: "I'm ordering 4 pieces. Each will be used individually between a pair of Porch Posts."

Example 2: "I'm ordering 2 pieces. One will be used on each side of a gable eave."

Example 3: "I'm ordering 5 pieces for use between Posts. The two 50" pieces will be used together and the three 40'' pieces will be used together."

Example 4: "I'm ordering six 45" sections. Three will be installed along on each side of my eave in continuous runs."

Please contact us if you find anything (or everything!) confusing.
