Porch Photo 90

Porch Photo 90
This small porch makes a major decorative statement!

Close-up A - Porch Photo 90
The owners were lavish but not extravagant in their choice of decorative items. By being bold, but also remaining true to historically correct design concepts, they have created a significant focal point for this side of their home.

CLOSE-UP
All of the traditional porch elements have been included. Intermediate Newel Post within the horizontal balustrade section, Gable Decoration, Post Face Brackets, Running Trim between Brackets (separated by Drops), Running Trim as fascia applique on the eave, Running Trim beneath horizontal bottom rail, and additional Appliques on the horizontal fascia all work wonderfully together to create a unified statement. Despite its size, this is a porch to be remembered!

Note Half Porch Posts used at the walls. They are installed onto plain trim boards that are slightly wider than the Posts. This is the best approach for most house surfaces, as it provides a flat surface to receive the Posts.
