BEFORE
The front roof of this house overhangs about four feet. That's too narrow for much of a sitting porch.
AFTER
The solution is both decorative and functional! A gazebo was incorporated into the porch plan, with a narrow walkway across the front of the house that visually doubles as a front porch. The gazebo helps balance against the mass of the protruding garage, while also providing very ample sitting space and an opportunity to catch breezes coming from the rear of the house.
CLOSE-UP
The owners wrote: "Enclosed are the before and after photos of our house, remodeled with the design I found in the Porch Design book on page 28 as well as millwork from your company. I wanted to give some character to our plain rambler style home built in 1978. The design worked great as did the millwork. It has really given our house a whole new look.
"We have had many neighbors and passersby stop and compliment, wanting to know where I found such a lovely design and quality millwork. Last year we remodeled inside using many of your products. I have been very pleased with all the millwork and also service from Vintage. Thank you for making these quality products available."
