Here's Porch Example #5 one last time, still with 4" high Beam, but with more appropriate Porch Posts. Their 24" long square tops provide these benefits:
• Space for a false beam (2x8's) between pairs of Posts.
• Space for a longer Post Face Bracket.
• Less flat Post base above the Handrail.
• A more pleasing balance to the entire porch.
