And here's a repeat of Porch Example #3, still without a true Beam. However, we've given the illusion of a beam by the use of 2x10 boards between each pair of Posts! (Notice that Posts go all the way to the eave.) Flying Circle Brackets are out of the shadows and now there's a place for Repeating Cornice Brackets installed directly onto the 2x10.
This "false beam" approach is great for existing porches built without exposed beams or for porches where height to the eave is not sufficient for a true beam above the Posts. See also Porch Example #7 where we "added to" a short Beam.
