In contrast, this example has very short Balusters (24" Handrail height, and Porch Posts were trimmed to 27" bases). Spandrel is taller, and Repeating Cornice Brackets are closer. Emphasis is now at the top of the porch.

Please study examples #17 and #18 closely. We've preached for many years that modern porches' Handrails are too high. Short Balusters are very traditional, unless safety or code requirements are a factor, such as on a second story porch.
