Subrail Installation - Details
Handrail is installed last.

Handrail is applied on top of the Subrail (if used), thereby concealing the nails or screws used to hold the Baluster tops. By screwing up through the bottom of the Subrail into the bottom of the Handrail, all exposed hardware is eliminated! The width of the channel in the bottom of your Handrail must, of course, accommodate the width of the Subrail used.
