AFTER At first glance you may think these are two entirely different houses, so dramatic is the “after.” But it is the same house. Only the porch and colors have changed.

Many of our products were used to transform this house to the grand look seen in the "after" photo. Turned Posts support the Porch. Balusters and Newel Posts create the Balustrade. Fancy Cut Cedar Shingles decorate the Gables. Sun Ray #5 Brackets, Running Trim, and 2" x 2" Square Drops are used between Posts.

The owner removed one end of each Bracket to accept the Drops. They also ordered a larger size of Sun Ray #5 Bracket for the pair over the steps. This allowed the lower ends of all Brackets to terminate at approximately the same point on the Posts for proper balance, while permitting the Running Trim over the steps to be installed higher for more headroom. The larger center pair of Brackets also bring extra importance to the entry area. Using two sizes of Brackets in this manner is subtle but brilliant!
